Dear backers from the UK,

I am a little bit frustrated. After weeks of communication between my logistic company and a British game warehouse which offered to distribute all games in the UK it looks like the latter gave up. Due to customs matters.

I still try to find a solution with them. And I already contacted a second game warehouse. But I can't tell how long this all will take.

Your games are all stored at my logistic company here in Austria.

I can offer you to send them to you directly. This will add additional costs for you and me. I have to pay a special fee at the post office, you will have to pay customs. For my part I have no problem to pay these additional fees as long as you get your games soon. I can't tell you hom much you would have to pay for customs. 

If you are willing to pay any customs fees then please tell me via email. Write to [email protected]. I will ship your game(s) the very next working day. 

If you would like to wait to avoid any additional costs then just do nothing. I will still try to find a distribution solution as fast as possible.

My apologies for all the inconvenience. I was certain to have all the copies shipped before the end of 2020, but due to corona the shipment from China took a very long time.

Shipping Update

United Kingdom

I found a partner who offered me shipping within the United Kingdom. This way no British backer would have troubles with customs. Unfortunately I don't get replies from him anymore for more than two weeks. I ask you for patience.

South America

Due to the Corona Crises shipping to South America is not possible right now. I am sorry about that.

Shipping in general is very difficult nowadays.

Asia

Shipping will start soon. Some package come from Austria, Europe, some from China. 

United States and Canada

Shipping is already in progress. A lot of backers already received their orders. 

Europe (without UK)

Everybody should have their game(s). If you didn't receive it yet please contact me. Write to: [email protected]

Replacements as pdf

Dear backers,

I am sorry to bother you with updates. 

Of course, I didn't think of the most obvious solution: Offering a pdf file with the replacement parts so that you can print it out by yourself. An attentive backer gave me the hint.

Replacements

Dear backers,

unfortunately two track tiles are mirror-inverted. It is track tile with the number L12. I apologize for that. Of course I will offer replacements.

I promised in a previous update a letter with replacement stickers and another income table board.

Because customs matters become very difficult I can't send the replacement board. Sorry about that.

Conclusio:

In about three weeks a letter with additional stickers will be sent to all backers. It will look like this:

And then I will produce these replacement parts:

I will produce them together with 18Mag. They will be available at the end of this summer.

You have several possibilities to get them:

1) You can choose them as free add-on at my recently finished Kickstarter campaign "18Mag". About half of you backed both 1840 and 18Mag and will soon get the survey.

2) You can pick it up for free at the game fair in Essen, Germany, October 14th till 17th, 2021. 

3) You can add it for free at my webstore at www.lonny-games.com if you purchase any other item. If you just order the replacements I ask you for shipping costs. It will be available at the end of this summer.

4) You can download it as a pdf on my website www.lonny-games.com.

1840 is ready to ship to the backers

Dear backers,

finally the palettes reached the fullfilment centers, both in Europe and USA. The games will be shipped within the next days.

The game looks very good. The quality is as I expected it. The box weighs 2.7 kilograms (6 pounds). Here are some pictures:

Unfortunately there are some annoyances coming with 1840, and I apologize for them:

The second income table sheet is missing and seven stickers are missing (one for each Stadtbahn line and three landmarks). The stickers for #6 and #9 don't show an underline to distinguish them, the stickers for the black company have a transparent background so they can't be seen. And the share price board and the 2-player board show the abbrevation "TR" (Tramway Round) instead of "CR" (Company Round).

I already ordered replacements. All of you will get a letter with the second income table sheet and a set of stickers including stickers with "CR" to cover the "TR". See picture below. You will receive this letter in about two months.

The game is fully playable with all these annoyances (for instance the three missing landmarks are only for the sake of completeness included). Enjoy it!
